My Wrap-Over White Top

Being a frequent reader in my church requires me to have plenty of white tops. So, I make one :)

:: The front ::

:: The side ::

:: The back ::

To sew this, i use Easy stich 'n save McCalls M5450 that i "steal" from my shop. It's quite easy and not very time consuming compare to other typical top. I love this style. But the only thing i dislike about this pattern is the very short hemline and loose neckline which showing a little bit of my bra. Going to make some alteration next time. Read my pattern review for this pattern.

And i sew ViewA with collar addition from View B

:: Pattern pinned on fabric and ready to be cut ::

:: Fabric pieces ready to be sew ::

:: Another DIY top added to my wardrobe ::

Until next time guys :)

My Couch Makeover

My sewing machine had been repaired! And i just cant wait to try and sew something as soon as we arrived home :)

This what i made last night.
My rattan couch cushion cover.

:: After ::

:: Before ::

This rattan couch is a very old couch, my hubby's family bought since 80's. The previous cushion is much more decrepit and we bought new cushion (which came together with the blue cover) for it last year. The quality of the blue cover is not very good, using a very light cotton fabric. And i dont really like the super-bright color and pattern. So, i changed it.

After some arguing and considerations between my hubby and I at the fabric store, we end up buying this dark blue-greyish stripe home deco fabric. We both like it :)

I draft the pattern and come out with a template.

:: The fabric pieces to be sewn ::

:: Plan of the zipper placement ::

:: This is how i sew the zipper ::

Conclusion: I'm planning to buy a new cool L-shape sofa in the future when our financial permitted. But for now... both hubby and I still love our new-look couch :)

"Sadder-Day" Morning

It suppose to be a typical Saturday morning. I'm alone in the house, I have done my laundry, clean up the house, feed the dogs, feed the fishes and finally i have time all by myself. Time for me to sew.

After sewing a few yards of stitches, then suddenly the needle stopped. I can hear the motor still running inside. But nothing is moving. Cursing and curious, i fetch a screwdriver, open up the sewing machine and this is what i found.....

Broken Belt !

:: The "surgical table" ::

Oh God.. i'm so frustrated and discouraged. I have so many scheduled projects....

:: My couch cushion cover ::

:: My white wrap-over top ::

:: My stripey top ::

:: My first DIY bag ::

.......... and all will be delayed again.

Got to go.. fix this.

The Winner for Sewing Pattern Giveaway !

It's time to annouce the winner :)

Only 12 people participate but that doesnt mean my job is easier. I'm having difficulties to pick the winner because everyone is equally deserve to win.

I enjoy reading all your entries & how sewing makes u happy. It make me miss my sewing even more. I wish i can pick all of you to be the winner. But giving away 12 patterns (including the not-s0-cheap shipping cost) will cost more than the profit i make in my humble shop.

So, i decide to pick two winners instead. One local Malaysian winner and one international winner. The winner is............

skin ~ I really enjoy reading her post for this giveaway. She claims to be a brutal-tomboy-punkrock girl. And sewing is one of her hobbies that bring out the girly-ladylike-attitude that she's trying to show despite her punkrock side. Interesting! :)

Back Porch Blessings ~ The story that she write in my comment box is absolutely meaningful and very heartwarming story. Like sis Maria said, I'm also deeply moved by it. How her first dress from a pillowcase makes her happy. How sewing help her so much in dealing with her grief from the lost of her parents. I do admit ur story is the most impressive from all.

So, winners.. have urself to pick any pattern u like from my shop and email me your shipping details. I hope this will become another reason for u to be happy bout sewing :)

-----------------------------------------------

I have abandoned my sewing machine for long enough. I'm now full with inspirations and u will be seeing more sewing creations from me this coming July (I hope so). I'm planning to use these beautiful fabrics soon... :)
